Thank you @arimillerx , Caitlin Bias @caitlinbias and Dana Pellicore @dpellphl for hosting us and sharing space. One night @awmanclams asked if he could take my portrait the next morning in my studio. For those of you who don’t know me, I am not a morning person, but I figured why not. At 8am, I woke up to my phone ringing and Mikey telling me he was out front. He lugged his lighting and camera equipment up to my studio as I quickly ate my breakfast of strawberries and coffee. Here are the results: A sleepy me, with no makeup, in my home. When he sent these to me, my first instinct was to pick my form a part “I have cellulite, my arm looks fat, my foot looks weird” a product of my gender socialization, and then I remembered, this is who I am. We all look different all the time and it’s important for people to see that, not some unrealistic photoshopped and curated version of ourselves. Celebrate your flaws, own them, they are a part of you too. #film #michaelgarrity #eclectikdomestic
So much energy went into last night’s #peoplessupperphl. Thank you to everyone who came out to stand in solidarity with the families living in sanctuary at FUMCOG. We raised $1000 for each family. Thanks again to @thecollectress for guiding our dialog in understanding and redefining hospitality. There is so much more to be done, let’s get to work. #nohumanisillegal #radicalfood #eclkcollective #eclectikdomestic
